COL FB: Louisville 30, Temple 7

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 5 (UPI) -- Teddy Bridgewater threw two touchdown passes and seventh-ranked Louisville's defense narrowly missed a shutout in its 30-7 win over Temple Saturday.

Bridgewater completed 24-of-34 passes for 341 yards and Dominique Brown ran for 73 yards and a TD for the undefeated Cardinals (5-0, 1-0 ACC) in their ACC opener.

Louisville kept winless Temple (0-5, 0-2) off the scoreboard until P.J. Walker hit Jalen Fitzpatrick with a 9-yard touchdown pass with 38 seconds left in the game. Temple turned the ball over twice and mustered only 48 rushing yards.

Walker was sent into the game in the second quarter. The freshman completed 11-of-20 passes for 176 yards and ran for a TD.

Louisville did most of the damage in the first half and led 24-0 at intermission. The Cardinals added a pair of field goals by John Wallace in the second half.
