Brigham Young linebacker Hadley suspended for five games

PROVO, Utah, Sept. 18 (UPI) -- Brigham Young University linebacker Spencer Hadley was suspended for a violation of team rules, a school spokeswoman said.

Although a reason for the suspension was not specified, Hadley was suspended Tuesday for violations of the school's honor code, spokeswoman Carri Jenkins said.

The honor code forbids drug and alcohol use as well as premarital sex, The Salt Lake Tribune noted Wednesday.

Jenkins said Hadley will serve a five-game suspension. The announcement comes days before Brigham Young will play a game against the University of Utah Saturday.

Hadley, a senior, started in Brigham Young's first two games and recorded 12 tackles and two pass beak-ups.
