On the 102-second audio file, the man's angry voice is heard calling the school's fans "a bunch of [expletive] fair-weather [expletive]" in response to a question about spectators leaving at halftime of a home game in which the Cornhuskers were trailing.
"It took everything in my power to not say, '[Expletive] you, fans. [Expletive] all of you.' [Expletive] 'em," the voice says.
Deadspin reported the voice is that of Pelini, who apparently didn't know he was being recorded after an Oct. 8, 2011, game in which Nebraska came back from 21-point deficit to beat Ohio State.
The website said its tipster had "only recently had come into possession" of the recording.
