Alabama (1-0), going into a game against No. 6 Texas A&M, is again listed first on 58 of the 62 ballots from the voting coaches. It's the SEC opener for both the Crimson Tide and Aggies. A&M defeated Alabama 29-24 in 2012, the only loss for the Crimson Tide in a BCS title season.
Oregon (2-0) gets its first first-place mention of this season and moves ahead of Ohio State (2-0), which gets two first-place votes. Stanford (1-0) and Clemson (2-0) are again fourth and fifth, respectively.
Only five of the Top 25 teams are in the same spot as a week ago with losses by South Carolina and Notre Dame dropping those teams eight places and one by Florida sinking the Gators 11 spots. Texas and Southern California drop out of the rankings this week after losses.
Miami (Fla.), which beat Florida, sees the biggest gain, improving six places into a tie for 18th while Michigan is up five and fellow Big Ten rivals Nebraska and Northwestern are both up four places this week.
Texas A&M (2-0) is sixth this week after pulling in the final first-place vote, followed by Louisville (2-0) while Louisiana State (2-0) in eighth and No. 9 Florida State (1-0) and 10th-ranked Georgia (1-1) complete the Top 10.
Oklahoma State (2-0) improves to 11th and Michigan (2-0) goes from 17th to No. 12. Oklahoma (2-0) is up two places to 13th ahead of No. 14 South Carolina (1-1). Nebraska (2-0) and Northwestern (2-0) are both up four to 15th and 16th, respectively.
UCLA (1-0) comes in at No. 17 while Miami (Fla.) (2-0) and Wisconsin (2-0) are tied for 18th. Florida (1-0) sits in the 20th spot.
Notre Dame (1-1) drops into 21st while No. 22 Baylor (2-0) makes it first appearance of the season in the rankings. Washington (1-0) and Texas Christian (1-1) hold onto their spots at 23rd and 24th. Mississippi (2-0) enters the poll at 25th.
In addition to the Alabama at Texas A&M game Saturday, UCLA visits Nebraska, also Saturday, in another game between ranked teams.
