COL FB: Oklahoma 34, Louisiana-Monroe 0

NORMAN, Okla., Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Freshman quarterback Trevor Knight hurled a trio of touchdown passes Saturday, leading No. 16 Oklahoma to a season-opening 34-0 thrashing of Louisiana-Monroe.

Knight completed 11-of-28 passes for 86 yards with an interception and also ran the ball 13 times for 103 yards for the Sooners (1-0), who yielded just 166 total yards on defense.

Damien Williams picked up 66 rushing yards on 16 carries and Brennan Clay ran for 43 yards with a score for Oklahoma.

Jalen Saunders led the Sooners' receiving corps with two TD grabs.

The Warhawks (0-1) were paced by senior quarterback Kolton Browning, who connected on 20-of-39 passes for 128 yards with an interception.
