NORMAN, Okla., Aug. 27 (UPI) -- A University of Oklahoma football player was arrested for allegedly breaking into his ex-girlfriend's house and threatening to kill a man there, officials say.
Jake Reed, an offensive lineman, has been charged with first-degree burglary, assault and battery and domestic abuse, The Oklahoman reported Monday.
He has been suspended from the team pending resolution of the charges, said OU athletics spokesman Pete Morris.
Court documents indicate Reed's ex-girlfriend, Paris Littlechild, told police he broke into her home about 3:30 a.m. Sunday. She and another man, Justin Chaudhury, ran into her bedroom and locked the door, but Reed forced his way in.
He began punching Littlechild and Chaudhury and threatened to kill Chaudhury, the documents say.
Police found Chaudhury running from the scene.
Littlechild said she and Reed had dated since high school but she recently ended the relationship, records show. She said Reed has abused her in the past.
