NASHVILLE, July 16 (UPI) -- Vanderbilt University released the names of four football players who were dismissed from the team, pending the result of a sex crimes investigation.

The school identified the players as Cory Lamont Batey, 19, Brandon Vandenburg, 20, Brandon Erick Banks, 19, and JaBorian "Tip" McKenzie, 18.

None of the four has yet to play a game for the team, the (Nashville) Tennessean reported, noting the release of their names comes immediately before SEC Media Days in Hoover, Ala., where questions about their involvement in the investigation will likely be asked.

Nashville police have revealed few details about the case, except that their sex crimes detectives were contacted June 26, and have been investigating an incident at a Vanderbilt dormitory, the newspaper said.

No arrests have been made, and it remains unclear how the players are involved in the investigation.
