SEATTLE, March 13 (UPI) -- University of Washington tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins has been suspended after his arrest for driving under the influence, Coach Steve Sarkisian said.

The arrest of Seferian-Jenkins, a junior regarded as a potential 2013 All-American, came after his involvement in a one-car accident in Seattle Tuesday night, the Seattle Times reported.

Sarkisian made the announcement of the indefinite suspension, pending a school investigation, after the team's practice Tuesday evening, adding when the investigation is complete, "We will make the decisions necessary based on our team rules and our school's policies that are fair to him and fair to us. We will support him."

The police report of the incident said Seferian-Jenkins suffered a "bloody nose" in the accident, and was treated at a hospital and released.

Sarkisian said any possible injuries are not a factor in his absence from the team, noting it was purely a suspension.
