STATE COLLEGE, Pa., Feb. 25 (UPI) -- Penn State football running back Akeel Lynch was charged with misdemeanor criminal mischief in an on-campus window-breaking incident, university police said.

Lynch allegedly kicked in a window Nov. 16 in the school's Schulze Hall dormitory, Penn State police Chief Tyrone Parham said, adding the charge was not filed until Friday.

A freshman, Lynch did not play last season, and Nov. 16 was a Friday, the day before a home game against Indiana.

A Penn state spokesman said he was unaware of any discipline Lynch might face from the football team, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Monday.
