FORT WORTH, Texas, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- Seth Doege hooked up with Alex Torres on an 8-yard scoring pass in triple overtime Saturday, boosting No. 20 Texas Tech past No. 21 Texas Christian 56-53.
Texas Tech and TCU each scored touchdowns on their first two overtime possessions, but the Horned Frogs (5-2, 2-2 Big 12) settled for a field goal on their third try.
That set the stage for the game-winner for the Red Raiders (6-1, 3-1 Big 12).
Doege connected with Darrin Moore for 17 yards on the drive's second play, setting up the scoring strike to Torres two plays later.
Doege finished 30-for-42 passing for 318 yards with seven touchdowns and no interceptions.
Trevone Boykin completed 26-of-44 passes for 332 yards, four scores and two interceptions for TCU.
