COL FB: Ohio State 17, Michigan State 16

EAST LANSING, Mich., Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Braxton Miller ran for 136 yards and tossed a go-ahead, third-quarter touchdown pass Saturday in Ohio State's 17-16 win over No. 18 Michigan State.

Miller rushed 23 times while going 17-of-24 through the air for 180 yards -- including a key 63-yard scoring strike to Devin Smith -- as the Buckeyes (5-0, 1-0 Big Ten) claimed a victory in new Coach Urban Meyer's conference debut.

Philly Brown gained 84 yards on 12 grabs and Carlos Hyde rushed for 49 yards on 11 tries as the Buckeyes controlled the ball for the game's final 4 minutes to wrap up the win.

Michigan State (3-2, 0-1) was led by Andrew Maxwell, who completed 22-of-42 passes for 269 yards and a score.

Le'Veon Bell was held to 45 yards rushing on 17 carries for the Spartans.
