COL FB: Wisconsin 37, Texas-El Paso 26

MADISON, Wis., Sept. 22 (UPI) -- James White ran for two touchdowns Saturday in No. 24 Wisconsin's 37-26 win over Texas-El Paso.

White carried 15 times for 65 yards for the Badgers (3-1) and Melvin Gordon ran for 112 yards and a TD.

Joel Stave was 12-of-17 passing for 210 yards and a touchdown, connecting with Jared Abbrederis on a 47-yard scoring play in Wisconsin's 21-point third quarter.

The Badgers scored two points in the first quarter when Devin Smith ran a blocked extra-point kick 90 yards. Wisconsin led 24-9 at half time.

Steve Valdez kicked two field goals for the Miners (1-3) and Xay Williams ran for an 8-yard TD in the third quarter. Nick Lamaison threw for 259 yards, including a 62-yard TD pass to Michael Edwards in the game's final minute.
