Oregon St.-Nicholls reset game for Dec. 1

Sept. 13, 2012 at 9:31 PM

CORVALLIS, Ore., Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Officials at Oregon State and Nicholls State announced Thursday their football game that was postponed earlier this month would be played Dec. 1.

Oregon State will host the contest, which is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET.

The arrival of Hurricane Isaac forced the game to be postponed from its originally scheduled date of Sept. 1. The Nicholls State traveling party could not safely gather for the flight to Oregon.

It was the sixth time since 2004 that a game involving Nicholls State had been disrupted due to a hurricane and none of the other five were ever played.

The schools said this game would be also be canceled if Nicholls State makes the FCS playoffs or if Oregon State qualifies for the Pac-12 championship game.
