AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- David Ash sparked No. 15 Texas with two touchdown passes Saturday and the Longhorns crushed New Mexico 45-0.
Ash passed for 221 yards, going 16-of-22, before turning over the offense to backup Case McCoy, who completed 5-of-8 passes for 64 yards and a score the rest of the way. Joe Bergeron rushed for 49 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.
Daje Johnson led all Texas receivers with 66 yards and a touchdown on three receptions.
New Mexico (1-1), meanwhile, couldn't muster a score, with quarterback B.R. Holbrook going 5-of-8 for 32 aerial yards.
