BATON ROUGE, La., Sept. 2 (UPI) -- Kenny Hilliard racked up 141 rushing yards and scored twice Saturday, powering top-ranked Louisiana State past North Texas 41-14.

Odell Beckham returned a punt for a score and Alfred Blue added 123 yards on the ground for LSU (1-0), which began its season with a 38th straight non-conference, regular-season triumph -- the longest such streak in the nation.

The Tigers also racked up their 18th consecutive non-conference win at home.

Derek Thompson compiled 143 passing yards, hitting Brelan Chancellor twice for touchdowns for the Mean Green (0-1).
