CARTHAGE, Mo., July 11 (UPI) -- A young man faces manslaughter charges for a car crash that killed two Missouri Southern State football players.

Jeremy Johnson, 20, was indicted this week and arrested Monday, the Springfield (Mo.) News-Leader reported. He was seriously injured in the December crash, and a judge reduced bail to $1,500 because of his physical condition.

Dionna Johnson, who is not related to Jeremy, said her son, Diondre Johnson, another football player, Michael McCrimmons, and a friend, Patrick Holt of Benton, Ark., were passengers in Jeremy Johnson's SUV when it rolled over on Interstate 44. The young men, all 19 at the time, had been visiting a nightclub in Joplin, Mo.

Diondre Johnson was thrown from the SUV. Jeremy Johnson was able to get out but was hit by a car while the SUV was struck by a truck with McCrimmons still inside.

A witness said the SUV went by him very fast just before the rollover.
