GRAND FORKS, N.D., July 2 (UPI) -- The University of North Dakota announced Monday that football Coach Chris Mussman has been signed to a new three-year contract, through 2015.

"I look forward to working with Chris for years to come," Athletic Director Brian Faison said.

Mussman has coached the Sioux for four years.

North Dakota, which had an 8-3 record and shared the Great West Conference title last season, officially joined the Big Sky Conference Sunday.

Mussman was named 2012 GWC Coach of the Year.

His career record is 23-20.
