GAINESVILLE, Fla., Jan. 11 (UPI) -- The University of Florida announced Wednesday Brent Pease has been hired to replace Charlie Weis as the football team's offensive coordinator.
Pease is a 21-year coaching veteran who has been at Boise State the last six years.
Weis left the position to accept the head coaching job at the University of Kansas, Florida Today reported Wednesday.
"I'm excited to join the University of Florida football family and The Gator Nation,'' Pease said in a statement. "I've always had the utmost respect for Coach [Will] Muschamp and the UF program and I'm honored to have the opportunity to work at one of the premier institutions in the nation."
