COL FB: Houston 48, Tulsa 16

HOUSTON, Nov. 25 (UPI) -- Case Keenum passed for 457 yards and five touchdowns Friday and No. 8 Houston erupted for 35 second-half points in a 48-16 win over Tulsa.

The victory clinched the Conference USA West Division title for the Cougars (12-0, 8-0), who set a school record for wins in a season and will host the conference championship game Dec. 3 against either Southern Mississippi or Marshall.

Keenum threw three TD passes in the second half, when the Cougars went on a 28-0 run to close out the game. Patrick Edwards caught eight passes for 181 yards and four touchdowns and Justin Johnson had seven catches for 106 yards and one TD.

Houston set a school record for wins in a season and will host the conference championship next Saturday at Robertson Stadium against either Southern Mississippi or Marshall. Southern Mississippi will host Memphis Saturday and Marshall is at home against East Carolina.

G.J. Kinne passed for 176 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions for Tulsa (8-4, 7-1).
