COLUMBIA, S.C., Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Marcus Lattimore scored twice on the ground and once through the air Saturday in 10th-ranked South Carolina's 21-3 win over Vanderbilt.
Lattimore picked up 77 yards on 20 carries and added 73 more on three catches for South Carolina (4-0, 2-0 SEC).
Stephen Garcia passed for 228 yards and a score, completing 16-of-30 attempts and overcoming four interceptions as the Gamecocks began a year with a fourth straight win for the first time since 2001.
South Carolina held their opponents to only 77 total yards of offense.
The Commodores (3-1, 1-1) were led by Larry Smith, who went 12-of-16 for a mere 44 yards and one pick-off.
