March 28 (UPI) -- Bluegrass basketball fans are relentless.

Following the University of Kentucky's 75-73 loss to North Carolina in the Elite Eight, Wildcats supporters were upset with referee John Higgins. They decided to channel their unhappiness at Higgins' roofing company.

On Tuesday, scores of Wildcats fans posted hundreds of one-star ratings and reviews. The Facebook page eventually went offline.

"Wouldn't trust this man to do any roof, siding, gutters, or to ref any basketball game," one person wrote. "Those calls were as crooked as I have ever seen. Those baskets by Bam were not offensive goaltending. Fox should've got a call on the last shot of the half. You put our stars in the bench the entire first half with foul trouble. And for Gods sakes it's the NCAA Tournament and it's two of the best teams in college basketball history and you're seriously gonna call touch fouls on them like you did? Let them play it's gonna be a fight. You are a crooked ref and if your work as a contractor is anything like your work as a ref I wouldn't trust you putting a plastic roof on my nieces doll houses."

The Wildcats had nine turnovers to the Tar Heels' 16, but were out-rebounded 44-34. Kentucky committed 19 personal fouls compared to North Carolina's 18.

"If we can't trust you to fairly referee a game, how could anyone trust you with the roof over their head? I hope you made a nice amount of money for those calls you made because BBN will never forget," another poster wrote.

Keith Kimble and Mike Reed joined Higgins on Sunday's officiating crew.

"I'm not going to blame you for Kentucky shooting 63 percent from the free throw line and losing the game," another poster wrote. "Any moron with a brain can see Coach Cal can't get it done."

Higgins has owned John Higgins Weatherguard, Inc. for more than 30 years, according to his website Rooferees.com.

"John started the company in 1984 and has never looked back," the website says. "John Higgins Weatherguard, Inc. specializes in roofing, siding and guttering for both residential homes and commercial buildings. Unlike many roofing companies, John Higgins Weatherguard, Inc is not a storm chaser. In other words, we stay right here in the Omaha metro area to complete their work and we will be here to stand behind our work."
