Jay Wright won a NCAA basketball title as coach of the Villanova Wildcats, and he's becoming popular in the NBA coaching rumor mill.

Wright is reportedly the top target of the Phoenix Suns, meaning Wright has unwittingly fallen into the same cycle that entrapped Kevin Ollie following the UConn national title run and annually encircles Kentucky head coach John Calipari. Mike Krzyzewski and Tom Izzo, longtime college coaches at Duke and Michigan State, are regularly listed as the next big hire in the NBA.

Wright did not comment directly on the report from Sirius NBA Radio's Mitch Lawrence.

He didn't sound like he was going anywhere Monday night in Houston after Villanova's 77-74 win over North Carolina.

"You're like a parent when you're a coach. I just couldn't be prouder, couldn't be happier to see them enjoy this and fulfill their dreams," Wright said. That's what it's all about for a coach, just to see their eyes, to see their satisfaction, their enjoyment. There's no better feeling in the world for a coach or a parent."

Wright is expected to have his contract addressed but as a Philadelphia native with a ton of talent returning from the national title team, the Wildcats are well-positioned to bump into the likes of Kentucky and Duke in the hunt for the 2017 championship.
