PHILADELPHIA, April 5 (UPI) -- Pavilion packing participants at Villanova University are probably still in bed anyway, but the school maybe made parents rest a bit easier.
Villanova announced that classes were canceled Tuesday, following the Wildcats' wicked win in Monday's national championship game against North Carolina. The school sent students text messages early Tuesday to notify campus of the change.
The Wildcats were willed to victory on a buzzer beating 3-pointer, off of the hands of Kris Jenkins. The 77-74 victory was Villanova's second championship in program history.
The team has a celebration planned, when doors open at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Villanova Stadium. Fans were able to grab new championship gear starting at 8 a.m. in the campus bookstore.
