SAN DIEGO, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Winston Shepard, Dwayne Polee and J.J. O'Brien all scored a dozen points Tuesday in 13th-ranked San Diego State's 90-64 victory over visiting San Jose State.

The win got the Aztecs (24-3, 13-2 MWC) back on track after a weekend loss at New Mexico and remained tied for first place in the Mountain West Conference.

Matt Shrigley scored 11 for the Aztecs, who shot 49.2 percent from the field. Xavier Thames remained in a cold spell with eight points, half of which came from free throws.

Rashad Muhammad and Jaleel Williams both scored 14 points for San Jose State (7-20, 1-14). The Spartans had broken a 13-game losing streak over the weekend.

San Diego State started fast with a 9-2 run and led 44-30 at halftime. The Spartans trailed by 14 early in the second half but steadily lost ground.
