CHAPEL HILL, N.C., Feb. 12 (UPI) -- A scheduled college basketball game between No. 9 Duke and North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C., was postponed Wednesday due to an ice storm.

It has been rescheduled for Feb. 20 at a yet-to-be determined time.

North Carolina Athletics Director Bubba Cunningham said the game was called off as the Carolinas were paralyzed by a massive ice storm.

"Duke's bus is not able to get to their campus to pick up the team in time to be able to make the trip to Chapel Hill so we can't play this evening," Cunningham said.

The decision to postpone the game was made with "the safety of the teams and officials" in mind, he said.

No makeup date was immediately announced.
