COL BKB: San Diego State 74, Utah State 69 (OT)

LOGAN, Utah, Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Xavier Thames scored 10 of his career-best 31 points in overtime Saturday and No. 7 San Diego State escaped with a 74-69 victory over Utah State.

Winston Shepard helped out with 10 points for the Aztecs (18-1, 7-0 MWC), recorded a 17th straight win.

Their only loss this season was Nov. 14 against current No. 1 Arizona.

Spencer Butterfield netted 19 points, including a score-tying 3-pointer in the finals seconds of regulation for the Aggies (12-7, 2-5).

Jalen Moore contributed 16 points and seven rebounds.
