COL BKB: Syracuse 69, Boston College 59

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass., Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Trevor Cooney totaled 21 points and Jerami Grant added 16 Monday, helping Syracuse overcome upset-minded Boston College 69-59.

Grant also grabbed eight rebounds for the unbeaten Orange (17-0, 4-0 ACC), who were facing former their Big East rivals for the first time since 2005.

Tyler Ennis supplied 12 points and five assists and C.J. Fair finished with 12 and six rebounds for Syracuse.

Boston College held a 45-37 lead in the second half thanks to a 15-2 run, but the Orange responded with an 18-3 surge of their own to avoid their first loss of the season.

The Eagles (5-12, 1-3) got 18 points from Lonnie Jackson but committed 16 turnovers.

Ryan Anderson contributed 14 points.
