COL BKB: Wake Forest 73, North Carolina 67

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Travis McKie scored 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting Sunday, helping Wake Forest knock off No. 19 North Carolina 73-67 in the teams' ACC opener.

Codi Miller-McIntyre added 12 points and Tyler Cavanaugh chipped in 11 as the Demon Deacons (11-3, 1-0 ACC) stayed unbeaten on their home court with a 9-0 mark.

The erratic Tar Heels (10-4, 0-1) got 13 points and eight rebounds from James Michael McAdoo but committed 17 turnovers.

J.P. Tokoto and Brice Johnson each provided 12 points and nine rebounds for North Carolina.
