COL BKB: Southern Methodist 74, Connecticut 65

DALLAS, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Nic Moore had 20 points and six assists Saturday, propelling Southern Methodist to a 74-65 upset win over 15th-ranked Connecticut.

Moore went 3-for-4 from 3-point range and Nick Russell contributed 14 points with seven rebounds for the Mustangs (11-3, 1-1 AAC).

Markus Kennedy came off the bench to provide 10 points.

UConn (11-3, 0-2) got 15 points from Ryan Boatright in losing a second straight to begin conference play.

Lasan Kromah and Shabazz Napier each scored 12 points.
