COL BKB: Ohio State 84, Nebraska 53

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Amedeo Della Valle came off the bench Saturday to score 15 points and help lead third-ranked Ohio State past Nebraska 84-53.

Marcus Loving and Shannon Scott both scored 13 points for the undefeated Buckeyes (15-0, 2-0 Big Ten).

Ohio State led 40-30 at halftime and limited the Cornhuskers (8-6, 0-2) to 23 points in the second half. Only two of Ohio State's starters played as many as 30 minutes.

The Buckeyes shot 54 percent from the field and made 21-of-29 free throws.

Nebraska shot 37.5 percent and made only a dozen trips to the foul line.

Terran Petteway led Nebraska with 15 points. Leslee Smith had 11 points and 10 rebounds.
