COL BKB: Louisville 83, Rutgers 76

PISCATAWAY, N.J., Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Russ Smith scored 22 points and No. 10 Louisville took advantage of 19 Rutgers turnovers Saturday en route to an 83-76 American Athletic Conference win.

Luke Hancock added 15 points for the Cardinals (13-2, 2-0 AAC), who posted an eighth win in nine games overall.

Terry Rozier provided 14 points and Wayne Blackshear had 13.

The Scarlet Knights (7-8, 1-1) played tough but couldn't keep up with the reigning NCAA champions. Myles Mack put in 19 points but committed six turnovers.

Craig Brown added 17 for Rutgers.
