GREENSBORO, N.C., Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Andre Dawkins made five 3-point shots Tuesday in sparking the No. 8 Duke Blue Devils to an 86-48 pummeling of the Elon Phoenix.

Dawkins had two early 3-pointers as the Blue Devils (11-2) built an 18-4 lead midway through the first half and cruised in from there to a fifth consecutive win.

Dawkins finished 5-of-7 from long range as Duke hit 10 of its 19 3-point attempts for a 52.6 percentage. That was higher than what Duke managed shooting overall (48.5 percent) or from the free-throw line (52.2 percent).

Elon (7-7) also had trouble shooting, hitting 19-of-54 from the field (35.2 percent) and committing 22 turnovers.

Dawkins' 15-point effort led all scorers. Rodney Hood added 13 and Jabari Parker had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Duke. Quinn Cook and Rasheen Sulaimon each had 11 points for the Blue Devils.

Elon was paced by Lucas Troutman and Ryley Beaumont, who both scored 11 points.
