COL BKB: Connecticut 82, Eastern Washington 65

BRIDGEPORT, Conn., Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Shabazz Napier scored 15 points Saturday and No. 15 Connecticut used a ballhawking defense to shut down Eastern Washington 82-65.

Napier, Ryan Boatright and Niels Giffey combined for eight steals and the Huskies (11-1) recorded eight blocked shots in their second straight win following a Dec. 18 loss to Stanford.

Boatright netted 14 points and Giffey added 13 with four rebounds.

Terrance Samuel came off the bench to provide 12 points with six rebounds and Phillip Nolan swatted aside three shots for UConn.

Tyler Harvey paced the Eagles (5-6) with 19 points.
