COLUMBUS, Ohio, Dec. 4 (UPI) -- A 20-point performance by LaQuinton Ross and a strong first half Wednesday sent No. 3 Ohio State coasting to a 76-60 victory over Maryland.
The Buckeyes advanced to 8-0, grabbing a 17-point lead at intermission. They dominated thanks to a 52 percent shooting percentage.
Sam Thompson chipped in 14 points for Ohio State, Lenzelle Smith had 12 and Aaron Craft delivered 10 points to go with six assists and five steals.
The game brought together future conference rivals. Maryland (5-3) will join the Big Ten after the current season.
Maryland was led by 19 points from Dez Wells. Both sides took 18 shots from 3-point range with the Terrapins making only two and the Buckeyes hitting eight.
