NEW YORK, Nov. 29 (UPI) -- Nick Johnson's 3-pointer keyed a second-half run Friday that vaulted No. 3 Arizona to a 72-66 win over fifth-ranked Duke in the title game of the Preseason NIT.

Arizona advanced to 7-0 in one of the highlight attractions of the young college basketball season, employing a 12-3 run during the midst of the second period to open the lead.

Johnson scored 15 points to pace all five Arizona starters in double figures. Brandon Ashley contributed 13 points.

The Wildcats overcame a three-point halftime deficit by limiting Duke to 42 percent shooting. The Blue Devils were outrebounded by 10 and turned the ball over six more times than did Arizona.

Duke (6-2) was led by Rodney Hood with 21 points.
