COL BKB: Duke 97, Florida Atlantic 64

DURHAM, N.C., Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Rodney Hood took advantage of his free throw chances Friday to lift Duke to a 97-64 win over Florida Atlantic in what was a big day for the No. 4 Blue Devils.

Hood scored 28 points, hitting 12-of-13 free throw attempts. Duke took a 23-point halftime lead and coasted to its second win in three games.

In addition to the victory, Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski learned during the day that two of the top high school recruits in the nation had committed to joining the Blue Devils for the 2014-15 season.

Center Jahlil of Illinois and point guard Tyus Jones of Minnesota, who became friends while attending elite basketball camps, decided to become college teammates. They chose Duke over Kansas and made their announcements at simultaneous news conferences on Friday.

Jabari Parker, Duke's prized freshman for this season, added 21 points and Andre Dawkins had 17.

Florida Atlantic (1-2) was led by 17 points each from Pablo Bertone and Richard Morrow.

Duke shot 57 percent from the field and made 12-of-23 from 3-point range.
