STORRS, Conn., Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Omar Calhoun hit three 3-pointers and scored 17 points Thursday in leading No. 20 Connecticut to a 101-55 mauling of Detroit.
The Huskies shot 56 percent from the field in winning for the third time in as many games this season.
Connecticut built a 22-point halftime lead and soon cleared the bench with 13 players scoring. Niels Giffey delivered 15 points and six rebounds off the bench while Ryan Boatright had 12 points, six boards and seven assists.
Matthew Grant scored 15 points to pace Detroit, which slipped to 1-2.
