PITTSBURGH, April 9 (UPI) -- Basketball Coach Mike Rice committed acts against players, similar to those that got him fired at Rutgers, as coach at Robert Morris College, a review revealed.

Rice was head coach at Robert Morris, a suburban Pittsburgh college, from 2007 to 2010.

An in-house review of the Robert Morris basketball program, revealed Tuesday by Athletic Director Craig Coleman, indicated Rice and a player shoved each other at halftime of a game, and Rice directed a homophobic slur and threw a basketball at another player "once or twice."

The review included 17 interviews with former and current players and staff members, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported Tuesday.

Coleman's investigation did not reveal any "coaches versus player brawls," as charged last week by former Rutgers athletic official Eric Murdock after Rice's firing at Rutgers, the newspaper said.
