ATLANTA, April 6 (UPI) -- Tim Hardaway Jr. provided 13 points, six rebounds and five assists Saturday, propelling Michigan into the NCAA Championship Game with a 61-56 win over Syracuse.

Mitch McGary added 10 points, 12 rebounds and six assists as the Wolverines (31-7) held off a Syracuse rally down the stretch and secured their first berth in the NCAA title tilt since 1993 -- an appearance that was later vacated due to NCAA violations.

Glenn Robinson III helped out with 10 points and six boards for Michigan, which won despite missing four of six foul shots in the final minute.

The fourth-seeded Wolverines, who claimed their only NCAA championship in 1989, now go on to face No. 1 Louisville in Monday's title game.

The Cardinals defeated Wichita State 72-68 in Saturday's first national semifinal.

C.J. Fair pumped in 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds for fourth-seeded Syracuse (30-10), which was seeking its first finals appearance since 2003, when it defeated Kansas for its only championship.

Brandon Triche added 11 points and eight rebounds for the Orange.
