COL BKB: Marquette 72, Notre Dame 64

MILWAUKEE, March 2 (UPI) -- Jamil Wilson and Chris Otule combined for 35 points Saturday, sparking No. 22 Marquette to a 72-64 win over 20th-ranked Big East rival Notre Dame.

Wilson pumped in 19 points and Otule went 8-for-8 from the field en route to 16 as the Golden Eagles (20-7, 11-4 Big East) notched their fourth victory in five games.

The win ensured Marquette a double-bye in the upcoming Big East post-season championship tournament.

The Fighting Irish (22-6, 10-5) got 21 points, seven boards and five assists from Jerian Grant in falling for the first time in three contests.

Eric Atkins (16 points) and Zach Auguste (15) also reached double figures in Notre Dame's loss.
