LOS ANGELES, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Eric Wise paced a torrid USC shooting performance Wednesday that propelled the Trojans to an 89-78 upset of No. 11 Arizona.

The Wildcats slipped out of what had been a first-place tie with Oregon at the top of the Pacific-12 Conference race.

USC had lost two in a row coming into this game and had shot only 35 percent in a loss to UCLA last weekend. The Trojans, however, made 61 percent from the field against Arizona and were 6-of-10 from long range.

Wise scored 22 points and Byron Wesley had 18 for USC (13-15, 8-7 Pac-12).

Arizona (23-5, 11-5) was led by Solomon Hill with 21 points and six assists. The Wildcats had won their previous three games.
