MANHATTAN, Kan., Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Will Spradling put in 19 points Monday and No. 13 Kansas State bested West Virginia 71-61 in Mountaineers Coach Bob Huggins' return to Bramlage Arena.
Nino Williams contributed 13 points and Angel Rodriguez chipped in with 11 and seven assists as the Wildcats (21-5, 10-3 Big 12) won for the sixth time in seven games.
Huggins made his first appearance in Manhattan, Kan., since his successful stint as the Wildcats' coach during the 2006-07 season, during which he helped the program revive its fortunes with a 23-12 record.
Huggins left for West Virginia the next year, but his return was spoiled as the Mountaineers (13-13, 6-7) lost for the second time in three contests despite 16 points from Deniz Kilicli.
Aaric Murray added nine points and nine rebounds in the loss.
