SYRACUSE, N.Y., Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Michael Carter-Williams and C.J. Fair each scored 17 points Sunday and No. 9 Syracuse made 10 three-pointers in its 77-58 win over St. John's.

Carter-Williams went 3-for-5 from long range and recorded six steals, eight assists and four rebounds. Fair added nine boards.

Brandon Triche added 16 points, seven assists and five rebounds for Syracuse, which shot 53.7 percent from the field.

James Southerland returned from monthlong period of academic ineligibility to put in 13 points off the bench as the Orange (20-3, 8-2 Big East) won a second straight.

Jakarr Sampson paced the Red Storm (15-9, 7-5) with 21 points and six rebounds.
