COL BKB: Mississippi 93, Miss. State 75

OXFORD, Miss., Feb. 7 (UPI) -- Marshall Henderson hit six 3-pointers and boosted No. 23 Mississippi to an overwhelming start Wednesday in a 93-75 victory over Mississippi State.

Mississippi opened the game on a 19-2 run and had no trouble putting away its in-state rival.

Henderson scored 31 points and Murphy Holloway had 24 for the Rebels (18-4, 7-2 SEC), who are a game behind first-place Florida in the Southeastern Conference chase.

Mississippi led by 19 at the half and shot 51 percent from the field.

Craig Sword scored 17 points to lead the Bulldogs (7-14, 2-7).
