COL BKB: Texas Christian 62, Kansas 55

FORT WORTH, Texas, Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Garlon Green scored seven consecutive points in the game's final minutes Wednesday, vaulting Texas Christian to a shocking 62-55 win over No. 5 Kansas.

In perhaps the biggest surprise of the college basketball season, the Horned Frogs won their first league basketball game since joining the Big 12 Conference.

They had gone 0-8 in their inaugural Big 12 season before knocking off a team that had been ranked No. 1 in the nation before suffering another stunning setback last weekend at home against Oklahoma State.

Kansas scored only 13 points in the first half, shot 29 percent from the field overall and converted just 3-of-22 from 3-point range.

The Jayhawks were still within four points with 6:52 to play when Green delivered his seven consecutive points to put TCU in front 51-40.

Green finished with 20 points and Nate Butler Lind added 10 for the Horned Frogs (10-12 for the season).

Ben McLemore scored 15 points for Kansas (19-3, 7-2 Big 12). The Jayhawks had won 18 in a row before suffering their back-to-back losses against Oklahoma State and TCU. Kansas is now tied with Kansas State for the conference lead.
