CARBONDALE, Ill., Feb. 6 (UPI) -- Jalen Pendleton scored the final four points of the game Tuesday in helping the Southern Illinois Salukis upset the No. 22 Wichita State Shockers 64-62.

Pendleton dropped in a layup with 48 seconds to go and then, after a Wichita State turnover, hit a game-winning jump shot that allowed Southern Illinois (9-14, 2-10 Missouri Valley) to snap a six-game-losing streak.

Wichita State (19-5, 8-4), which has lost its last three games, trailed 55-48 with 7:14 to go but fought back to take the lead at 60-58 when Malcolm Armstead fed Cleanthony Early for a short shot. Early was fouled on the play and converted the three-point play with 2:23 to play.

Pendleton, who had six of his eight points in the final 1:47, pulled Southern Illinois even with two free throws and Carl Hall returned the lead to the Shockers with a tip-in. Pendleton answered on the other end with his layup, tying the score, and Wichita State turned the ball over with 12 seconds to go. After a timeout, Pendleton got the ball for his final shot.

T.J. Lindsey led the Salukis with 14 points while Desmar Jackson and Jeff Early each scored 11. Wichita State was led by Demetric Williams' 15 points.
