COL BKB: Creighton 81, Southern Ill. 51

CARBONDALE, Ill., Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Doug McDermott helped No. 12 Creighton break a two-game skid with 21 points and 10 rebounds Sunday in the Bluejays' 81-51 pounding of Southern Illinois.

Grant Gibbs had 13 points and six assists for Creighton (18-3, 7-2 MVC).

Gregory Echenique finished with 12 points with 11 boards, and Ethan Wragge and Jahenns Manigat each scored 12 for the Bluejays.

Desmar Jackson led the Salukis (8-12, 1-8) with 16 points.
