Dad who drowned sons gets death penalty

RENO, Nev., Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Chase Tapley scored 17 points Wednesday and led No. 25 San Diego State to a 54 percent shooting performance while smashing Nevada 78-57.
The Aztecs broke open what had been a one-point game at halftime by making 31-of-57 from the field. Jamaal Franklin added 14 points for San Diego State (15-4, 3-2 Mountain West Conference) and J.J. O'Brien had 12.
Nevada (10-8, 1-3) was led by Malik Story with 17 points.
San Diego State will have a chance to get back in the conference title race on Saturday when it hosts league-leading New Mexico, which improved to 4-0 in conference action Wednesday with a decision over Colorado State.
