COL BKB: Florida 64, Georgia 47

ATHENS, Ga., Jan. 23 (UPI) -- Scottie Wilbekin hit 7-of-9 shots to pace Florida Wednesday and the No. 7 Gators held Georgia to 20 second-half points in defeating the Bulldogs 64-47.

Georgia took a 27-24 halftime lead, but melted away in the second period while the Gators were turning up the defensive pressure.

Florida turned the ball over only six times to 16 for Georgia, which hit just 41 percent of its field goal attempts and grabbed a mere four offensive rebounds.

Wilbekin scored 17 points and Kenny Boynton had 14 for Florida (15-2, 5-0 Southeastern Conference). The Gators defeated Georgia in both their regular-season meetings and has downed them 17 times in their last 20 games.

Georgia (7-11, 1-4) has lost four of its last five. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope had 16 points and seven rebounds for the Bulldogs.
