PORTLAND, Ore., Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Kelly Olynyk hit 8-of-9 from the field and scored 21 points Thursday in lifting No. 8 Gonzaga to a 71-49 blasting of Portland.
The Bulldogs won their eighth in a row since suffering their lone loss of the season to Illinois on Dec. 8. Gonzaga improved to 17-1 and is 4-0 in the West Coast Conference.
Kevin Pangos made four 3-pointers and scored 14 points for Gonzaga, which claimed 15 more rebounds than did Portland and forced 17 turnovers.
Kevin Bailey produced 16 points to pace the Pilots (8-11, 1-3).
